Well... it was.

The Incredibles really lived up to its name. There were eleven of us who went to see it, and the consensus was it was Pixar's greatest hit. Although every time we saw the Pixar trailer - you know, the one with the lamp - the reaction was 'OMGnotthatthingagain!' (Guess what our current project is? hehe)
Strangest thing - the Odeon boogie. The whole class dancing to the music in the cinema trailer. Don't have a clue who started it. Bet we got some funny looks from the people in the comfy back seats... then again, they were waaay back from us. Probably didn't see. Cinema was half empty.
Four of the gang have decided to go as characters from the film to the next costume party we do. That should be a sight to see.
First. The short film, Boundin'. I'd seen the trailer a long time ago, thought it looked weird then and still do now. Very cute, but I didn't really get it. And what the heck is a Jackalope, anyway?
But onto the big feature!
The characters were wonderful. Personalities portrayed beautifully, models just as beautiful. Perfect animation. Think they got a bit lazy with Syndrome's guards, though - I'm sure they were all the same guy!
Syndrome - excellent villain. Stupid costume. A bad guy with a 'decent' motive, though, which is always a good thing. You could sort of see the logic behind how he got that way, with the shots of him and Mr. I. in the old days. Always like that in a baddy.
The fashion designer. Hilarious!
The ending was brilliant and very, very appropriate. It's just what she said would happen...
They always said 'a baby can grow up to be anything' - heh, didn't realise they'd literally do it. Go Jack-Jack.
Only just got Violet's name. Dash was totally obvious. But it's ultra-violet, isn't it? D'oh!
Too many good bits to pick out any in particular. Lots of visual jokes, fewer of the verbal. Worked well.

Date: 2004-12-01 08:16 am (UTC)A Jackalope is an American myth, I believe... similar to the Chupacabre in Mexico? There are varying reports of how it looks, but in general it's supposed to look like a jack rabbit with a deer/antelope's horns. Hence Jackalope. *shrugs* I can't remember much more than that. It's a pretty obscure legend.
