On a more positive note.
Aug. 17th, 2011 11:23 pmSo Ayacon's finally approaching. Damn, I haven't been in this much of a panic-rush since uni. But I'm sure every cosplayer out there has had this kinda moment.
Rose just needs her belt/sash sewing and a bit of hairspray/tweaking at the wig. Managed to clear the worst of the paint splodges off the Thorns, which look pretty keen now.
Aerith's dress still needs work, as does the wig, which needs a bit o' coaxing into those crazy Squarey bangs of hers. Hairspray time again! But the staff and boots are done, and the jacket just needs buttons: very happy with the way all of them are looking. The staff's basically pipe insulation on an old curtain rail, the boots started life as a pair of ancient rain boots which got covered in vinyl stuff, and I at least did 90% of the jacket construction. Will see if I can get some pics tomorrow. (Then again, I am lousy at posting promised pictures 'n all.)
Still need to stick the Shadow antennae/horns on the headband, and I'm borrowing Dad's yellow goggles. Got a nice zippy skirt and boots of a 'darkness uniform' flavour, put that with a simple black T-shirt and leggings. Just a simple little thing for maybe Sunday, when I don't want to be running around all kitted up because it'll be a pain to change for the train.
All this before 2.30 on Friday. I am so, so glad I've got help. Mum seems to be using this as an excuse for downtime from... um. More serious business. :(
