Quakes and volcanoes and bad 'net connections, oh my.

So I'm nearly home. Would actually /be/ home if it wasn't for a little thing called a volcano blowing its top, but ah well - life goes on. Am writing this from a swanky hotel at the airport that the airline grabbed us rooms for for today: the plane we were meant to be on is stuck in Denmark, so they've had to reorganize things, delaying us until tomorrow at stupid o'clock AM. But as this place is comfy as hell, I'm not too put out.

I would've written sooner, but the wi-fi at the other hotel was le suck - they blocked like ten million websites. Including LJ and Meebo. And Deviantart. But not Facebook for some reason, which would have been useful if I, you know, used Facebook, what the heck? I originally thought this was a Turkey-wide thing, as they used to ban Youtube and various things, but as it's all working here fine I'm wondering what was going on.

Other than that! Things have been cool. It's been a really chilled out kind of break, much lounging by pool and wandering through markets. Also attempted to buy bits and pieces for my cosplays while stuff was cheap; I scored some nice fabric for my Aerith but had little luck otherwise. Went on a jeep safari trip around the local national park yesterday; fun, but tiring. And slept through an earthquake... it was only little by the time it got to where I was staying, but the news looked pretty bad from the town that got hit. :(

Looking forward to food that isn't Things With Eggplant In Sauce, though. Damn the cooks at the hotel loved their eggplant.
