On the postage front- I've sent loads of packages containing confectionary (both by surface mail and airmail) to the U.S. and Canada, from the UK, with no problems.

That's cool, I was just working on the theory of 'hmm, maybe I could drop some stuff off over there when I'm there and save on the cost of postage' a bit. Or... something like that.
