I'm back on the Mac. Took it into computer shop again; they copied my old files onto one of their machines, reinstalled OSX, and put everything back. I'm downloading updates now.
And after that, when I'm back from work? BACKUP FRENZY. Also check software and settings; I've noticed a couple of things have gone weird. Firefox still has my bookmarks here, yay, but Adium's not starting.
It's good to be home.
