Things most geeks' parents don't do:-

Me: *brings up cosplay plans to dad* "Actually, after the stuff we saw in Germany, I think I'd like to try an armour thing..."
Dad: "Like what?"
Me: *pulls out pics of armour!Terra*
Dad: "..." *starts pointing* "Camping mat. Beer helmet. I have some old bits from my motorbike gear you can use..."
Me: "!" *hugs*

He's very enthusiastic about helping me out with armour and weapons making, kept coming up with mentions of 'oh, would X be useful for anything?' when we were in town today. I guess it's because it's something that involves me Not Being At The Computer. Anything that involves me Not Being At The Computer gets his seal of approval as a rule. ;)

Still just testing out materials, but I'm getting a good idea what I can and can't do. First stage is going to have to be a whole lot of cardboard templates. And then waste a whole lot of camp mat and fun foam on six different failed attempts at things probably. But that's why I'm starting now. XD
