Having parents who'll go 'oh, I saw this thing that looked like that character you're doing the costume of and picked it up'... priceless.
I am now something like an afternoon with sewing machine and fabric paint away from a Rose kit. Aerith... still a bit off. But we did a test of the jacket design this weekend with an old curtain for fabric and it looks pretty good.
Mum's already saying 'oh, if you get any ideas for the next one, just tell me...' whee.
