(no subject)
Apr. 6th, 2011 03:32 pmWelp, I appear to have a nasty case of the post-con lurgy. Got so bad this morning work sent me home... not that I'm complaining, sleeping in until 1pm was about what I needed. XD Though I still feel as rough as a hedgehog army.
Four months until the next one I'm interested in, in August. Which I'm calling time to get cosplays together. Two or three, I'm thinking? What though, hm. Probably mix up the easier and more technical stuff, because n00b, at least I'll be able to get some of 'em ready. The sewing machine bits'll be fine, I can sewing machine OK, it's the design work that might be tricky. I'm kind of looking forward to the props bits, though, I love doing hands-on work like that.
So far, possible subjects, my usual preferences: Disney, KH, Homestuck, Touhou.
Disney? Not entirely sure what I'd pick, but there's always a wide enough selection there.
KH? I could always attempt The Coat. Don't feel like a Sora, Riku or Kairi. Given people were fond of my Heartless hat, I'm considering some kind of humanized Heartless deal - maybe Shadow-based? (I don't think I could pull off a Kurt. :p) I saw a lot of gijinka Pokémon over the weekend, so that got me a little inspired...
Homestuck: Not doing a troll. I do not do facepaint. Hell, it's not like I really do makeup at all. But (non-grimdark) Rose or Jade would make for an easy one, assuming I stay away from such things as the Dead Shuffle dress. Or even a humanized troll, though I don't know how to make that not look a cop-out.
Touhou: Mixed bag of simple to difficult designs; I can imagine some of the outfits might have trickier wings and accessories than anything else? Mebbe Nazrin (that's the mousegirl in my icon) or Cirno (ice fairy, simple dress but tricky wings). Dammit, I can do better wings than the Remilia who was in the masquerade.
Hmm. Suggestions?
