Jan. 3rd, 2010 08:34 pmFinally got to see Avatar last night. Just. Wow. Damn. You can tell why it's the most expensive film ever. Seamless and beautiful and... well, the plot had a couple of flaws and cheesy moments but who was watching it for the plot alone, seriously? Left the theatre sharing 'whoa's with Dad. Awesome stuff. My kind of movie to the core.
At the same time, apparently, work was getting broken into. o_O Couple of guys drove a car into the doors of the warehouse: we had the open door alarm bleeping at us the whole day. I will be hearing that beep in my dreams. At least they didn't get away with much: a few TVs. Apparently including our cheapo own brand ones and a couple that were faulty. They couldn't get the big TVs out through the gap the car made! Smooth, guys. Could've been a lot worse - it was just luck they couldn't get their hands on the laptops...
Though I can now think less of work. I'm finally free from the tyranny of Christmas peak-season bumped up hours. It's either stress and rush or dull as hell. Boxing Day, bank holiday, were the former - I've been so frazzled over these so called holidays! But it's gone back to being the latter, now. Boring central.
As much as the people there are generally awesome? I'm going to have to start looking for things that aren't the work equivalent of playing Desert Bus again sometime soon. Something has to be out there, now...
Finally. Have just managed to give my Mac keyboard an orange juice bath. I unplugged it, gave it a wipe down with a wet cloth, and have put it on the side to drain and dry but it looks like I'm on the li'l laptop for a bit again. Just hoping I've saved it...
