It's amazing how the atmosphere in the store has changed. The new one... well, although he could stand to tone down the pet names, he's a decent guy. Fair, friendly, relaxed. We're not all twitching around, worrying about targets and crap - and somehow, the store's still doing damn good. (Although part of that is 'let's beat the old boss's new store, the new boss's old store, the old boss's old store, etc...')
And the new DM... well. Let's describe how things went tonight, in one particular incident.
He's been rearranging things in store a bit. He had the rather cool idea to set up a display of the 'gaming speaker chairs' we have in; PS3 there, nice TV, everything ready for the testing. Our own personal arcade. (I suggested we do a Little Big Planet level with a store theme. XD)
Couple of customers come in, after games... and shortly afterwards, he's over at my end of the store going 'they were trying out my display! Yatta!'
...Yes, he literally did say 'yatta'. With an excited handwave.
And admitted to being a Heroes fan himself shortly afterwards, as if it wasn't obvious.
Oh, man.
Times like this ... yeah. So the store isn't the most exciting place of work in the world. But the people make up for it so, so much.
