Politics? Wha'?
Jan. 20th, 2009 02:25 pmSo today, the States change. A country goes crazy. The media goes wild. Twitter curls up into a tiny ball of feathers and phone masts burst into flames.
And guess who's working through the speechifying, trying not to sneeze on customers? >_>
Usually I don't give a damn about politics, especially in other countries, buuut - yeah. Something like this, would've been nice to see what was going down.
When I was in London, I actually saw a few Obama t-shirts on sale in souvenir shops. Uh, wrong country's president-to-be-very-shortly. Guess it's a case of 'yay tourist money please'.
One of them, though: someone got the wrong end of the stick. Someone'd put his picture next to one of Hitler (wtf), with a message saying 'same -' yeaaaah, probably 'different day' but the shirt was folded up. Oh, oh, I get this one! Hugely charismatic leader coming in during a period of country's economy being totally hosed and things being rather messed up in general? Huh? Huh? ...Ugh.
