Whoop, back! Well, that was fun... if damn cold.
Train ride down Thursday was nice - managed to get a free upgrade to first class because the carriage was empty. Had breakfast aboard - damn, they actually do a really nice fried breakfast. And very nice hot chocolate.

Got to London about midday; hotel was just a block away from the British Museum. Sweet. No last minute tube mess. Headed over to the reconstructed Globe Theatre for the tour - while I've never been a Shakespeare nut, it was still pretty interesting stuff! And the DW fan inside went 'ee, they filmed here yay'. Went to see Les Miserables in the evening; good show, classic, but some of the songs actually got a liiiittle loud for my ears. I just didn't figure it was the right place to be putting hands over 'em in a theatre, you know? (I have issues with things getting too loud. My head has its volume controls weird - my 'geez this hurts must get out of here' setting seems to be way lower than average. Can be a right pain on a night out. Literally.)

Friday, started off with a trip down to the V&A museum for the Tsar exhibition, and watched the ice carving outside the Natural History museum for a while. Headed off to the Trocadero; got a high score on a DDR machine - guess the practice is paying off, shame it was only on beginner mode! - and snagged a Kairi plushie from the mangatype shop there. (This makes up for us not getting to Forbidden Planet.) Afternoon, we headed for Camden Lock. Geez, I think I love that place. Reminded Mum of the souks in Morocco, so much activity and so many stalls... just with less being chased by people going 'buy my stuff!' Evening, were planning on looking at a couple of historic pubs but the first one we visited from the tour guide had been turned into a Trendy Wine Bar and the second and third fell afoul of aforementioned annoying mental volume settings and being overcrowded as hell. So we ended up just heading for an Indian restaurant and calling it a night.

Today; Mum thought Shepherd's Bush market sounded interesting. We got lost on the way. It wasn't. But got a photo of the BBC building for the hell of it, and ended up in the huge new shopping centre down there. The antiCamden, but equally cool in its way. Anywhere with Apple shops, Disney shops and Lush stores under one roof gets cool points in my book. Headed back for the train for 3 o'clock, and ride back uneventful. No first class, sadly. Spent a lot of it writing, and playing Solitaire on laptop.

Got back. Feet up. There we go.
