Sep. 18th, 2008 09:10 amWhooph. I'm home. Still tired as hell, mind... two hours on a plane isn't enough for jetlag! Actually got back last night but wasn't functional enough to switch on the computer.
Right.
Wednesday, flight time; bit of stress and panic on drive down, but the airport was fine when we got there. Ryanair plane, aka bus with wings. Got through the airport on the other side faster than we ever have before. As in five minutes.
As for Sardinia itself... the first town we stayed in was Alghero. Laid back resort place - I liked it! Only snag was that the apartment we rented was waay away from the town centre - pain to walk over to the interesting stuff. Spent the evening exploring.
Thursday pretty laid back. Went for a drive out to look at everything around the place.
Friday? Morning was nice. Boat trip out to see these cool caves. The afternoon, however: OMGSTORM. Serious storm. The kind that ripped branches off half the trees in town and trashed everyone's umbrellas... our chairs nearly blew off the balcony.
Saturday... Was time to move on; we had an apartment booked in a place across the island. Drive over. Through mountains. I hate mountain driving. And the town itself... is a dump. We decide 'screw this' and, after much panic and headless chicken imitation, find a rather nice place on the coast instead. Little town but pretty and with everything we needed. Definite improvement, except for the bit where we were sharing a hotel room, and Mum snores like a drill. This is why I'm so tired... XD
Sunday, rest after that disaster.
Monday was a drive in the mountains again day, looking at Scenery. Meh.
Tuesday pretty relaxing again: just wander around town in the morning, go out to visit a ruined village in the afternoon, maul DS for rest of day.
And Wednesday - the return. Big drive back (not that big, it takes two-three hours to get across the island!) with a stop in one of the big cities to kill time. Where we got a bit lost and confused and had hell with the traffic. Ah, well. Flight back was pretty routine again.
Got home.
Crashed.
Pretty much it.
