Feb. 5th, 2008 08:48 pm...oh man pancakes. We need IHOPs in this country. Or just in my town.
College has been going ... a hell of a lot better than it did last semester. We still have one drony-ass teacher, but we also have two who are cool and can teach, one who can teach, and one who is just cool. That's the Engineering Design teacher - our brief for this time around is to design a freakin' jet fighter. I am not kidding you here. Not going through all the details, but it's all about showing us the processes these things go through, I guess. Our maths teacher is a total laugh; he's always joking around. Structures doesn't go for the jokes so much, but he's cool at explaining things and taking us through everything. (I got 100% in his class last year...) Dynamics is a bit less than exciting, but he's the same. Good at explaining stuff.
The drony teacher, however, has gotten *worse* than last time. He's discovered the joys of Powerpoint (actually, not even that, he shows us .pdf files of our book pages). And he's also started running out in the middle of tutorials. I know I wasn't the only one falling asleep today; one of the gang from France was crashed out on the desk when I looked. And we've picked up a new teacher for Computational Aerodynamics or something like that, I forget the name. Involves modelling fluid flows and stuff on computer. It would be okay if it wasn't for the fact that we never have enough copies of the program... and no-one can make head nor tails of his accent.
