Note to self.

Putting fingers in ears to stop screechy sounds in music? Does not help much when the music is coming through headphones in the first place. In fact, it makes it louder. Smooth, real smooth.

Also, turning down volume on computer does not affect things when listening to iPod. The number of times I've done that...!

Heh.

I think I drag this out yearly... but it's something that preys on my mind on a regular basis. I'd probably bring it up more if I didn't feel like I was boring people.

When I was typing out the above entry, I went 'Smooth, Phi, real smooth'. I guess I was trying to shorten 'Phoenix', with a slight detour into AIs. Then I went and deleted it because I remembered someone on RvB at least used to go by a similar name and it felt like I was swiping theirs.
Still beats the real one.
I guess I have so many aliases going on I just swap to the next variant of whatever I'm calling myself when someone tags onto any given username on some site or other. DC, Hype, Phoenix. I'm used to it and I kind of like most of them except the one I was given all that time ago but it does feel weird sometimes even still... wish I could ever settle. Wish I could say 'yep, this is me'.
There is one variant on my real name that everyone gravitates to within five seconds of meeting me, but it's still a variant on my real name and therefore... bleh.
This is without getting called variations of my RP characters' names. I'm pretty much okay with it (especially in RP contexts of course) or I'd have told you all by now, but it feels beyond weird sometimes when the context is non-RPish.

Few months ago, one of my teachers was reading down the class list.
Teacher: "[me]? You might want to check something, because I think your name's spelt wrong."
Me: ^^; "Um, no, that's how it's actually spelt." >_> Yeah, it's spelt wrong from the start. Sucks.

(Incidentally, so annoyed with Firefox's spellchecker and its going silly on English spellings.)

Running with the names thing? Head full of AIs and single track-ness... Found this list and might have the 24-Greek-letters thing licked. I'd always thought the phonetic alphabet was a good option for filling out the ranks, but some of the letters don't make good names and it doubles up on Delta and Alpha/Alfa. This list has a few alternate alphabets, the letters decidedly different and providing other options - one even involves an Isaac and Peter in the same list XD. Sorted! Or there's always the use-two-letters-at-once idea... would need a bit of a system but provides a whole bunch; wonder what Omega would/did make of having another sharing the name? ;)

Why do my posts cycle around in this direction so easily? Heh.
This is just turning into one big ramble, really.
