(no subject)

Random thing about myself; I've got very sensitive hearing. Not in the sense of being particularly acute, a lifetime of headphone use has probably put paid to that. But loud noises and especially high-pitched noises make me very twitchy and very uncomfortable. I hate being in really loud clubs or bars or noisy crowds. I'm kind of picky about what I can stand. Any kind of really high whine drives me up the wall, like the kind in electronics stores when there's a lot of TVs on mute or things like that... when my uncle had a cat-scarer in his garden, that used to drive me crazy. Since he got the dog haven't had to put up with that... but had to put up with the dog instead, sigh.

If I'm needing coffee and Red Bull - Red Bull, for crying out loud! - to keep operational, something isn't right here. Trying to sleep, but Dad's got the radio on full blast downstairs - I can sleep through my own music but anything which is all BASS BASS BASS is not gonna work.

Further saga of me and the programming teacher.
Me: *walking through corridors and looking at noticeboard*
Teacher: *comes along* "Conquered any more worlds today?"
Me: *bursts out laughing* "No..."
Teacher: "...Only the one so far, then?"
Me: *splutter*
