Nov. 3rd, 2006 09:37 pmSo there was just a frickin' massive power cut where I live. Took out pretty much the whole town and my village too.
I was out in a restaurant, just sitting down, start to look at the menu, then it all goes 'phut'. Think they're going to start bringing out the birthday cake for someone.
They don't. They start bringing out candles.
Well, that was unexpected.
Eh, at least they were cooking with gas. Power came back on when I'd nearly finished the main course.
When I got home, tried listening to the radio to find out what had happened. (Turns out it was a fire or something.) Dad's little battery powered thing. Fiddle with tuning, fiddle, fiddle, listen to One Week because it just happened to be on, fiddle some more, get crackly reception...
...and remember I have a rather nice radio sitting on my desk anyway. DUH.
