You got owned...
Dec. 10th, 2005 12:31 amTonight ROCKED.
The taxi we'd booked didn't show up until forty minutes late (!) - fortunately, we managed to reorganize things with the 'laser quest' place in time. There were ten of us altogether - myself, eight classmates and an old friend off another course.
To get the obvious (to RvBers) madness out the way. Yes, there were teams set up. Yes, the teams were red and blue, despite what I'd read. Yes, I was a Red.
No, I couldn't refrain from yelling 'Suck it Blue' - and, during the first free for all round, 'Suck it Blue! I mean Red!' Gah.
Someone else got to 'Son of a bitch!'
But the obvious aside.
First round, as I just said, was free for all. In which I completely owned. XD Though I totally missed a lot of shots, I still came out top of the leaderboard. Score! Managed to rub some of the skin off my trigger finger from blasting. Owch, owch, OWCH. My attempts at being stealthy Sucked.
Second, and our first team game. Limited lives, limited shots. I somehow completely didn't realise that getting hit while you were 'dead' on your way to 'recharge' counted against your score. At least I did pretty well with accuracy. Got sniped the hell out of by the Blues. The Blues won.
Third, another team game. Unlimited lives and ammo. Some people switched sides, I didn't, heh. Did better this time again. Somehow managed to keep running into the same guy, inadvertently double teamed him with one of the others. Had a 'tell us your secret plan, Blue scum' moment when about three Reds including myself got one of the Blue surrounded (possibly weirded the guy out)... we won that round.
Came out at the other end an extremely happy, if tired, bunny. Everyone else was the same. It, well, as I said earlier - ROCKED. Went for a drink before we got the taxi back to town.
Went for a curry afterwards. Indian restaurant in town, absolutely brilliant. The gang broke into an impromptu 'happy birthday to you' which was embarrassing as hell, but you can't complain, it was sweet.
There was even birthday cake laid on. I wasn't expecting that. Cake = good thing.
Went for yet another drink before we went our separate ways. Yay.
Am now tired as hell and don't know what I'm doing online typing, so... yeah... that's about it. *g*
