Ignore This Notice. By Order.
Oct. 16th, 2004 08:20 pmThought of the day.
There are two truly useless notices in the world.
One reads 'Dogs Must Be On Leads'. The other reads 'Mobile Phones Must Be Switched Off'.
It's the first one that gets me - I'm a mild cynophobe (dog-phobic) and can't stand to be anywhere around them. Yet, at the first chance, so many people will let their pooch off for a run. Oh, Fluffy's harmless. He might be a six foot Alsatian, but he's still harmless. Standing next to you and growling slowly? Oh, he likes you! 'Kay, the last one was an exaggeration. But - uggh. Keep your damn mutt near you. I don't want him bounding around half way down the lane from where you are. And that includes you, expandable lead people. I don't want to trip over Fido.
Remember staying with family in Australia during the Big Holiday. They had the bounciest, yappiest dog ever running around the place. Name of Bandit. It suited. I swear, if I'd have had the option of staying in even a dump of a hotel, I'd have taken it instead.
Anyway. Managed to pick up a copy of Spirited Away at long last. Finally! Now I just need to get my DVD player back...
