College, stuff, and psycho tutors.
Oct. 7th, 2004 05:21 pm'Kay. Yesterday's news first. Really getting back into the swing of college life now. Thanks to ace new classmates. Being in a class with other manga/anime fans rocks. I must thank one of the lads for lending me his Fruits Basket collection, even though he doesn't know he's going to yet. ^^ Spent the afternoon 'networking'. In other words, doodling characters with nothing to do with any project in my sketchbook and discussing why the chicken crossed the road.
Morning... a bit scary, though. One of my tutors was looking through my notebooks. As a possible topic for a project, I'd written 'playground feuds'. She saw it. The result. Roughly.
Y (tutor): "That sounds good! How about doing some sketching in a playground?"
Me (me): "Mmkay... could do..."
G (best mate): "If you're going, I will too..."
Y: "GREAT! I'll talk to the nursery on campus... you go talk to schools... bla, bla..."
G: o.O
Me: "Um..."
Y: "*continues to waffle about drawing the kiddies*
Me: "It was just one idea... I don't think I'll use it..."
Y: *doesn't notice, and continues to waffle further*
G: *looks worried* "Okay... er..."
Me: "Really... it's okay, I was thinking of doing something else anyway..."
Y: *looks disgruntled, walks off*
The something else involved motorbikes and silliness. At least they don't move when you're drawing them.
But today. Two lectures. Didn't need to be in first thing this morning. Which I could have done with knowing before I got up early. Grr. But there's not a lot wrong when you spend the first lecture discussing the do's and dont's of video game gameplay, and spend the second lecture with a tutor who can actually get away with using the word kawaii in his lecture and still keep a straight face.
So. Basically cool, today. (Except maybe for the scaryscary baby on the bus. Kept doing that staring thing they do. Face looked like a boy. Clothes were girly to the max. Sure it was the world's youngest cross dresser.)
