I originally posted this as a reply in [livejournal.com profile] kaltia's LJ, but it refused to post, so...

What the hell is it with UK TV and animé?
We get three 'serious' animé shows over here. Three. That's it. And two of those are on at such a godawful time in the morning that they might as well not exist (and until Kaltia mentioned it, I didn't know they did any more...)

Evangelion. Bubblegum Crisis. Outlaw Star.

The rest are all kiddie-style.

All the Dragonballs. Digimon. Pokemon. Beyblade. Medabots. (Notice a theme here?) Ultimate Muscle. Ulysses 31. (Talk about obscure. I used to watch that when I was ickle.) Fine, if you're bored or under twelve. But...

If we ever get a non-kidsy anime over here, it vanishes in no time flat. Even the kidsy ones vanish.
We had Nadesico. We had Gundam. We had Shinzo. (Obscure, but good. When it was on.) We had Tenchi Muyo, and Escaflowne.
Now, we don't.
Where did Cardcaptors go? Where did Hamtaro (snigger) go? Where did Monster Rancher go? Where, for the love of (insert deity here), did Sailor Moon go?

The shops don't give half the selection they do elsewhere. And at twenty quid a shot, getting a DVD collection is a toughie. (And although we're in the same DVD region as Japan, I don't think my skills with the language are good enough to let me understand any imports.)
Grrr....

If it's okay for Cassie Claire, it's okay for me. Except the copying bit, maybe.
Niblets of modern Hyrulian goodness! :p
Don't go here if you don't want any spoilerage. You have been warned.
