Whoo. Fully working LJ again. Was still cacked out when I went to bed last night, good to wake up to things working.

So, Bonfire Night. Technically, it's tonight, but the fireworks shows started yesterday. Decided to go watch a few.
At the same time.
Went up a mountain (hill?) near where I live and watched 'em all from up there. It's like being in the middle of a sports stadium and watching a million cameras going off. Weren't the only people up there; there was another family or two. They brought sparklers. Let me have one - I haven't played with sparklers since I was a little kid! They broke out their own fireworks later in the evening. Which was cool.
Could see some really big displays going off quite close to where we were... awesome.

Got bored. Tracked down appropriate quotes from I Love Bees. And random thing I thought of re: Grifette in 82. )

Edit: OMG just looked out the window and the sunset is gorgeous. THE SKY IS ON FIRE.

It's been over a month since the router started playing up. We've been playing shuffle-the-modem since then. I've tried everything I can think of to get the thing working again, reset it, restarted it, updated the firmware, tweaked the settings, but still, nothing'll work, nothing'll work at all... we got about ten minutes connection the other day but that was all...

And I feel guilty for not doing more. I feel like somehow if I just try one more thing it'll WORK. Maybe I shouldn't post this after watching FMA because it just gives me a head full of equivalent exchange ideas, but I just can't shake that feeling... I just feel like if I try hard enough the thing'll jump into life, and that I'm doing things wrong for not trying. Like I'm letting people down.

Figure we'll end up just buying the router that virgin.net recommend (which I think'll actually play nicer with the DS, too) so we can yell at them if things don't work out.

...whoa, Torchwood's powerful stuff. I'm getting to like it more every week.

Random thing that MIGHT be spoilery, I dunno, but really isn't so much relevant to it as anything else. )
