Someone tell me why I thought it was a good idea to go climbing snowy, windy, OMGcold mountains (well, hills...) the day after the karate exam? Was still one big ache from Thursday... but no, end up hiking up the one of the local Big Hills with Dad. Usually, it's quite busy - there's a shorter way to the top than the one we took. Kids, dogs (ack) and the odd serious climber.
Not in the middle of a pseudo-blizzard, I don't think.
And not on the path we took, which is like the roof of a house - crazily steep. Definitely had one of those 'fuel cell on reserve' moments. Got to the top - foggy, blowy - and felt sure that some boss was going to come looming out of the mist. (There's a half-ruined tower on the top which I always think looks like it belongs somewhere in Hyrule.)
Brr.
Am now sore as anything.
(Just waiting for Dad to suggest another this afternoon...)
